We are still up and running here at Wollongong Eye Specialists!
Your eye health is our main concern and we are doing what we can to keep our services available for when you need us.
What we can do:
- We are still seeing patients in all three of our locations – Wollongong, Warilla and Nowra, doing the same testing and in room treatments
- Where appropriate we are conducting Telehealth phone calls with our doctors
What we are postponing:
- Due to NSW Health restrictions we have had to postpone all cataract, pterygium and in theatre lid surgeries – however we can still do all the prep including lens measurements and selections in our rooms so that as soon as we get the go ahead we can start operating again
- We have started a wait list of patients so that no one will be missed. We will be in contact with dates and hospital details as soon as we can
Social distancing and hygiene in clinic:
- We have reduced our appointment slots so that less people are in the clinic at the one time
- We are monitoring the patient waiting area to make sure social distancing of 2m between people is maintained and encouraging people, where they can, to wait outside
- We ask that if you bring a driver can they please wait in the car, again limiting numbers within the clinic
- We are not taking any cash payments, EFTPOS only please
- Upon arrival each person entering needs to clean hands with the sanitizer we are providing and also fill out a declaration stating that they haven’t been in contact with anyone confirmed with the virus, they have no symptoms and haven’t been overseas in the previous two weeks
- In the testing and doctors rooms every surface is wiped down regularly with solution and areas of patient contact are wiped after each patient with 70% alcohol wipes
- All clinical staff and doctors are wearing protective masks to decrease potential spread or particles in the air
If you have any concerns about your treatment or coming into our please do not hesitate to call and discuss with our staff.
