Dr Kirk is a medical retina and macula subspecialist with expertise in managing macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions. He is also an experienced cataract surgeon and general ophthalmologist.
Dr Kirk grew up in the Illawarra before completing his medical degree at The University of Sydney where he won numerous academic prizes including the Dean’s list for academic performance across multiple years and a travelling scholarship to study in Vietnam.
Dr Kirk completed his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital before undertaking a Medical Retina fellowship under Professor Paul Mitchell at Westmead Hospital. During his fellowship he was involved in multiple clinical trials investigating the real-world management of diseases of the macula.
Dr Kirk communicates thoughtfully and prides himself in providing compassionate and up to date care to all his patients.
